2015 Golf Tournament Report
from Roz Majer – 2nd Vice President:
We have done it again. Thanks to all your hard work, donations, and support we have managed to just pip last years total and net $23,000 at our 12th annual Golf Tournament.
Everyone can give themselves a big pat on the back, but I must particularly mention and thank my wonderful committee. They put in most of the hard work and it is through their perseverance and hard work that we raised so much money.
Unfortunately I cannot be at the next Luncheon but I would like these hard working ladies to be recognized at that time and thanked again by the club. Jo Morasco ran the actual tournament with her usual style and thorough organization. Bev Hall, Ingrid Nicholson and Joy Larsen, took care of the fundraising, writing letters, delivering them by hand and appealing to their contacts to support us. Christine Gardner was also involved in the fundraising as well as dealing with all the money raised and the money paid out. Jaina Johnson took over the raffle duties, a hard job as we had changed the format this year and she certainly worked hard to make it a success. Kaybel Taylor served as our publicity Chair and made sure we were well publicized as well as liaising with Paula Boyd Farrington who made sure we had all our posters, letters, registration forms and advertising signs. Thank you very much Paula and Freeport Advertising & Printing.
I also want to thank all the ladies who helped on the day. You are terrific volunteers and we could not have done it without you. And to the ladies who baked all the wonderful desserts which finished off our delicious Awards dinner, your efforts were delicious and well received.
Our awards dinner at the Oceans Blue Restaurant was a resounding success. They treated us very well and everyone was happy with the food and the surroundings. We hope that next year we can repeat it.
Of course none of this would be possible without our wonderful sponsors. They come through for us every year and we very much appreciate it. Letters of thanks will be going to everyone.
I think everyone deserves a round of applause. Well done.
