GUEST SPEAKER: FIBER ARTIST ANN KEISTER
A special treat this month is fiber artist Ann Keister, who received both her MFA and BFA from the University of Kansas, Lawrence. Her contemporary images reference decorative arts of the past and are inspired by traveling and museum visits. She often merges visual ideas from more than one style, period, or culture. Ann will be showing us one of a kind handmade garments and jewelry that are coordinated to work together—a collaboration between Ann and metal smith Patricia Nelson. The garments themselves are mainly constructed from vintage Japanese kimono fabric.
Please email Doreen Plummer at bigdp(at)coralwave.com by Friday, October 17th, 2014 – no later than noon with your reservations. Everyone needs a reservation. Invite a guest to join you for an afternoon of fun and amazing art!
